Hanalei Farmers Market on Saturdays!
While you are on the North Shore you must check out the Hanalei farmers market. It is every Saturday from 9:30-12 right next to the soccer field in Hanalei (off Kuhio Hwy). The farmer’s market is the best spot to find delicious locally grown fruits and vegetables, grab and go food and locally made arts and crafts. Supporting local is of the utmost importance to the Kauai community since in Hawaii we import 80-90% of our food (See article on how Hawaii Leaders Push to Double Food Production by 2020) .
Stop by the Hanalei farmers market next Saturday on your way to the beach :)
We are set up every Saturday selling our dried fruits, trail mix, chocolate spread and fresh seasonal juices.
A few of our other market favorites include:
Pookela Sausage Co.- The sweetest family who make their sausage and sausage patties from scratch using only the freshest local meat. We love their breakfast sandwich with fresh pineapple- YUM!
The breakfast burrito guy- His burritos are BOMB and they sell out super fast! Get there early! He is also the only person selling coffee if you need to get your morning fix at the market.
The Balinese Food- They sell a mixed plate with Balinese noodles, rice, shredded chicken and a salad with peanut sauce. So good!
Linda- Our next door neighbor to the left sells fresh fruit from her farm in Moloa’a including lychee, dragon fruit, bananas, mango, etc. She always has a great selection of what ever is in season.
Joan and Eeko- To the right of us, they sell pineapple and other fruits. Joan is an OG seller at the market and has been there for over twenty years!
Kaua’i Kunana Dairy- They sell farm fresh goat cheese, baked goods, fruits/veggies, juices, pesto sauce, salsas and honey.
Those are just some of our faves, but everyone at the market is wonderful, it’s a must visit on Kauai. Come by next Saturday!
If you cant make it to Hanalei on Saturday, fear not, there are farmers markets every day of the week on Kaua’i. Click on this link to see them all.
